Chief Secretary, U.P. and President of SGPGI
Visits SGPGI Mrs. Neera Yadav, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh State and President of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow visited SGPGI on 30th July 2005. She inaugurated the 30 bedded Endocrine Surgery ward. She also visited the Emergency services area and enquired about the functioning of the complex. This facility was inaugurated in the month of November 2004 by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of UP. Prof. Kartar Singh, Director, SGPGI apprised the chief secretary on the ongoing developmental activities at the Institute, the urgent need of funds for replacing the old equipments essential for patient care activities and future expansion plans. Later she addressed the faculty of the Institute and asked the needs and requirement of different departments. She assured the faculty that the sanction budget for the replacement of old equipments will be released soon. Regarding future expansion of the Institute, she said, an "Advisory Committee" will be formed soon to have brain storming discussion and to prepare a project plan on future expansion of the Institute in the coming ten years. She fixed the dead line for this exercise to finish before November 15th this year. She also advised to take the help of Experts / Consultants if required. The Institute faculty requested and pleaded her to release the planned and supplementary budget in time so that patient care does not suffer due to paucity of equipments. She assured that the equipment budget will be released soon. Shri Prashant Trivedi, Secretary, Medical Education, Govt. of UP also accompanied her during the visit.
